Trifonov Shines

A titan of the 20th century is celebrated in Grand Rapids for Opening Night, as pianist Daniil Trifonov joins the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra to transport us to George Gershwin's jazz-infused world, with his Piano Concerto in F. Immerse yourself in the wonderful sounds from one of the greatest American composers, conducted by Marcelo Lehningher!

Also on the program is Ravel's fiery showstopper La Valse, a radiant work originally conceived as a ballet but now mostly performed as a concert, and New Orleans native Courtney Bryan's White Gleam of our Bright Star.
