The Transformation Of Life And The World
An unseen work is coming to the Grand Rapids Symphony and will be closing out its 95th season in the spring of 2025. Focusing on the natural world surrounding us is Jack Heggie's new piece, Earth 2.0, which explores ecology and the environment through music and dance, as performed by the Urban Bush Women dance troupe. In addition to Heggie's composition, there will be a performance of R. Strauss's Tod und Verklarung, also known as Death and Transfiguration, which depicts the life and death of an artist on his journey to heaven. Music director of the GR Symphony, Marcelo Lehninger will conduct the evening, and choreography has been supplied by Urban Bush Women founder, Jawole Zollar. Join the symphony in the exciting and groundbreaking finale of the season!
