Why see Grand Rapids Symphony - Carmina Burana?
Hair-Raising Spectacular!
No season is complete without a rousing performance of Carl Orff's lustful and triumphant Carmina Burana and its showstopping O Fortuna chorus. Conductor David Robertson conducts the Grand Rapids Symphony through this roof-raising piece, joined by the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus and a host of talented soloists!
Originally derived from a series of Medieval poems, Carmina Burana has become one of the most exhilarating live experiences to be found in concert halls across the world and as one not to be missed whenever it's performed. As well as this hair raiser, the audience will be treated to Silvestre Reveultas' "La Noche De Los Mayas", composed for the film of the same name in 1939.
